Our Annual Spring Student Piano Recital in Hudson MA for Children and Adults
This afternoon recital was held on June 24 and marked our third piano recital for our Hudson MA Piano Studio students.

This year's recital was held at the First United Methodist Church of Hudson. Right down the street from our Hudson Piano Studio.
Student Recital
The recital featured several students from the Hudson MA Piano Studio. These are students of our Hudson location instructors including Robin Cho, Erika Stalcup and Jean Breidenbach. Our enthusiastic Hudson, MA audience enjoyed a variety of excellent performances by Samantha Gamber, Hanna Georgiev, Allison Mosher, Ian Winiarski, Emmanuelle Deoliveira, Amanda Denney, Elizabeth Guerriero, Brieanna Allen, Olivia Deckers, Garet Mildish, Puneeth Pothireddy, Andrew Salls, Gerry Rivera, Alessandro Dimeo, George Sachs-Walor, Melanie Nelson and Bobbie Ewels.
Among the many highlights was a performance by Samantha Gamber of Tom, Tom by Eckstein and the traditional tune Aura Lee. Eight year old Samantha, who has been taking lessons since February with faculty member Erika Stalcup, attends the Richer School in Marlborough and also plays the recorder and sings in her church choir.
Hannah Georgiev performed two traditional selections, Muffin Man and Tec Little Indians. Hannah, age 7 has been taking lessons with faculty member Jean Breidenbach since January.
Nine year old Allison Mosher also favored traditional selections, performing Alouette and Home on the Range. Allison is going into 4th grade at Berlin Memorial School and takes ballet as well as playing the recorder. She has been studying piano with faculty member Robin Cho for on year. This is the second piano recital for seven year old Ian Winiarski. This year he performed Rocky Top by Bryant and the traditional tune Aura Lee, both as a duet with his teacher Erika Stalcup. Ian is going into 3rd grade at Florence Sawyer Elementary School in Bolton, MA.
Student Recital
Entering the 3rd grade at Farley Elementary School, Emmanuelle De Oliveira performed three pieces, Tune-Twisters, Snake Dance and Grandfather's Clock. Emmanuelle is 8 years old and has been taking lessons with Robin Cho for one year. Erika Stalcup student, Amanda Denney will also be entering the 3rd grade this year, but at the Jaworek Elementary School in Marlborough, MA. Amanda performed two tunes by Eckstein, The Rainbow and Watchmaker's Shop.
Ode to Joy by Beethoven and the traditional Home on the Range were selected for performance by nine year old Elizabeth Guerriero. Entering the 4th grade this year at the Saint Bernadette School, Elizabeth has been studying with Robin Cho for one year. Also entering the 4th grade this year at the Saint Bernadette School, student Brieanna Allen has been taking lessons with faculty member Robin Cho for 2 1/2 years. Brieanna performed Morning Mood by Grieg and Musette by JS Bach.
The beautiful Richard Rodgers tune from The Sound of Music, Edelweiss was performed by nine year old Olivia Deckers. Olivia doubles on the violin and will be entering the 5th grade at Jaworak Elementary School in Marlboro. Entering the 7th at JFK School in Hudson, MA Garet Mildish also elected to perform Musette by JS Bach. Twelve year old Garet also plays the clarinet.
Student Recital
Hoagy Carmichael, the current composer featured in Ed Mascari's blog series, was the composer of choice for 14 year old Puneeth Pothireddy, who performed the popular piano piece Heart and Soul. Puneeth, who will be in the 9th grade at Boston Latin School this fall, doubles on the trumpet.
Student Recital
Nine year old Andrew Salls returned the audience to the classical repertoire with Largo by Dvorak and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by JS Bach. Andrew is actually a student at the Natick, MA piano studio, studying with faculty member Naoko Fukaya.
Fourteen year old Gerry Rivera will be entering the 10th Grade at the Seven Hills Charter School in Worcester, MA. Gerry chose to perform the Lennon & McCartney tune A Hard Day's Night. Alessandro DiMeo again returned the audience to the classical repertoire with his performance of Turkish March by Beethoven and Mozart's Romance from A Little Night Music. Alessandro sings with the Pro Musica Youth Chorus & Farley School Chorus.
Hudson, MA resident George Sachs-Walor chose to perform two selections by the prolific Lennon & McCartney, Here, There and Everywhere and Eleanor Rigby. George plays the trombone and enjoys attending drama camp in the summer. Seventeen year old Melanie Nelson will be senior at Nashoba Regional High School this fall. She returned to the piano three years ago and presented a wonderful interpretation of 6 Miniatures on Hungarian/Slovakian Folk Tunes by Bartok.
Also favoring the audience with a her own wonderful interpretation of Chaplin's Smile was adult student Bobbie Ewels. Bonnie has returned to the piano after taking lessons as a child and currently sings in Methodist Church choir. Her interpretation of Chaplin's Smile was exquisite.
Student Recital
The three Hudson MA Ed Mascari Piano Studio faculty members each favored the audience with a selection as well. Jean Breidenbach played the 1st Movement from the Sonata in C Major by Haydn. Robin Cho performed a beautiful interpreataion of Prelude in C Major by JS Bach. and the recital was brought to a wonderful conclusion by a duet performed by Ed Mascari on piano and Erika Stalcup on flute, Autumn Leaves by Joseph Kosma.
The Hudson, MA piano recital was followed by a reception in downstairs in the church where students and families met, talked and munched along with the Ed and the Hudson MA piano studio faculty members.
